My name is Elsie Flores, but my friends call me Corbin. I was once the owner of a bar and grill in Vancouver, BC, Canada, but had to pursue different passions due to private health issues. I still have a high passion for the restaurant life and like to cook great food for my family whenever possible. This year I started to miss my old life so much I decided to start up this blog so I can express my love for cooking and living in the kitchen. I worked in kitchens all my life and never dreaded it once. I loved every minute of working over the grill and serving at the bar. It’s great to work fast with good music playing. I love moving on my feet and working with my hands, and so it’s save to say being a chef was a perfect life for me. But I must stress the was because my current health issues make me unable to work in kitchens any more. It was so sad for me at the time, but I’ve come to accept my fate. Crying isn’t for me, and I’m never going to complain about anything on this bog. I just want my potential life-ling readers to know a bit about my history so they can understand where I’m coming from, and where I’m going. So let’s get to the future plan of this blog.
I love to talk about cooking and all the small things associated with running a restaurant that customers would never think of. There’re are thousands of topics i eventually want to cover on this blog, like hiring the right appliance repairmen, keeping the grill clean, using the right gas for range stoves, using different cooking oils for different dishes, bringing out the flavor in meat by preparing it properly and so on and so on. My friends say I have a rather dry sense of humor, so watch out for that. I intend to create a blog that other restaurant owners can find entertaining, but mainly I’m doing this for myself to keep myself from going insane, as my new health problem gave me nothing but all the time in the world to waste.
I must already thank for being this interested in what I have to say. I think it’s so cool that what my friends find absolutely boring might actually be interesting to some people. This blog is a very specific niche-orientated board of information and I my goal is to have it filled to the brim with valuable content before I leave this world. I hope you don’t mind me getting a little personal sometimes and talking about my own experiences a little more than most people would. i have no shame in admitting past mistakes, and so won’t hold back from making my life lessons available to you to learn from. Speaking of which, perhaps I should get started by saying “Never put Kraft cheese slices on real Italian pizza!!!!!!”
